LLP
We are committed to
providing a wide range of services to individuals and groups in the
following areas:
Administrative Law
We represent clients before administrative bodies such
as federal and provincial human rights tribunals, the Criminal Injuries
Compensation Board, and Social Benefits Tribunal.
We also act for clients in judicial review
applications before the courts.
Civil Litigation & Human Rights
We assist our clients in bringing legal disputes on
civil matters, whether they be public or private, before the courts.
We also act for complainants in human rights
complaints and can bring targeted civil actions on behalf of women as
redress for rights violations.
Criminal Defence
We provide criminal defence in all areas specialized for women. We do not
provide criminal defence services for men due to potential or existing
conflicts of interest but can offer appropriate referrals to other counsel
or community resources.
Employment and Labour Law
We practice labour and employment law, including union-side representation
before labour arbitrators, to guarantee women’s financial security and human
dignity in the workplace.
Family Law
We provide services related to domestic contracts, separation, custody and
divorce for women. We do not provide family law services for men due to
potential or existing conflicts of interest but can provide referrals to
other counsel or community resources.
Immigration Law
We provide services related to status in Canada, from receiving legal advice
on issues of obtaining visas, to permanent residence status, to refugee
status, and other issues relating to citizenship.
Other Areas
In addition, we provide corporate and commercial services to small
businesses and non-governmental organizations, along with contract advice
and estate planning for individuals.
If, due to the nature of your legal issue, we cannot assist you, we are
happy to refer you to a qualified practitioner.
